1: EDITOR'S NOTEBOOK
------------------------------------------------------------

"I wanted a perfect ending. Now I've learned, the hard way,
that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a
clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing,
having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it,
without knowing what's going to happen next. Delicious Ambiguity."

-- Gilda Radner

My fellow writers, I hope this newsletter finds you enjoying the summer months so far. As this is a newsletter, I find myself having to share some news with you all. Like the nature of change itself, it is neither good news or bad, simply that which must happen.

Christina Wheeler, the creator and manager of the websites SelfPublishedAuthors.com and OnlineForBooks.com, has decided to step away from running the sites. She's dedicated her time and energy into making these websites into valuable resources for independent and self-published authors in many countries. However, other priorities have made this difficult recently and now she's decided she can no longer devote the same time towards maintaining the sites.

When I became aware of this, we talked about what would happen to not only the newsletter, but to all of the resources she's worked to make available. We discussed the future of SelfPublishedAuthors.com as a whole. We both agree that it would be a shame for it all to be lost.

So, I have asked to take over ownership of the web domain of SelfPublishedAuthors.com, and I have every intention of continuing to provide a newsletter and website for promotion, advice, and new resources for all of us.

It is my desire to make a discussion forum website to serve as the new service. The main forum will be the new home of the Newsletter. As such, you will be able to read new and old newsletters online, or you can subscribe to them via an RSS feed or a new mailing list. The other forums will be a place for us all to share tips, advice, news, releases, and resources.

Regarding the mailing list for you, our subscribers, I hope you will continue to remain a part of our audience. It is my intention to make the migration to the new mailing list as easy as possible. In the spirit of our opt-in mailing list, I will soon be sending out emails inviting you to the new list.

What you will receive is a new opt-in/out email from "donotreply@emailenfuego.net" entitled "Activate your Email Subscription to: Self Published Authors Newsletter". The service maintaining our mailing list and RSS feed is provided by http://www.Feedburner.com.

If you choose to stay subscribed to the newsletter, the link in the forthcoming email will make your confirmation quick and easy. If you choose not to renew the subscription, you may simply ignore the email. If that is the case, I hope you may consider the new RSS feed, or join again later.

While in transition, some of the links from the website to the various pages may be disabled, and will likely have new links going forward. Please bear with us over the next month as the site goes through its changes.

It has been my pleasure to work with Christina, as it has been to make the newsletter available for you all. I hope she stays in touch, and I wish her luck in everything she does.

Thank you,
Dan Shaurette
