I worked as a sportswriter for the Passaic-Clifton, NJ, Herald News, as well as a freelance advertising copywriter. I am the author of tho novels: As the Twig is Bent, a mystery thriller, Opening Day (its sequel), and Escaping Innocence (A Story of Awakening), a coming-of-age novel set in the turbulent '60s. In addition, he recently published A "Real" Man's Guide to Divorce (First, you bend over and...). In 1997, he co-authored (with Manny Luftglass) Gone Fishin' with Kids (How to Take Your Kid Fishing and Still be Friends).
Joe was a professional fly-fishing guide in the Catskill Mountains of New York, and has had several fly-fishing short stories published in the Mid Atlantic Fly Fishing Guide. He is currently at work on a third mystery thriller, a follow up to Opening Day, which is set in Roscoe, NY, where he was a guide.
Presently, Mr. Perrone lives in Western North Carolina with his wife, Becky, and the couple's two cats, Callie and Cassie. The three novels and A "Real Man's Guide to Divorce are published by CreateSpace (a division of Amazon.com), and can be purchased on Amazon.com. Two of the novels are also available in large print. Gone Fishin' With Kids (How to Take Your Kid Fishing and Still be Friends) is published by Gone Fishin' Enterprises in Annandale, NJ, and is also available on Amazon.com.
